Immigration Psychological Evaluations

Your story deserves to be understood in its full context.

Immigration proceedings often require people to explain experiences that cannot be understood through symptoms alone. Trauma, separation, migration, family responsibility, medical concerns, cultural context, and years of adaptation can overlap in ways that are difficult to capture on paper.

This work is especially meaningful to me. My role is to approach each evaluation with care, clinical depth, and respect for the complexity of the person behind the case.

Evaluations Offered

I provide psychological evaluations for immigration-related cases, including:

  • Hardship waivers

  • I-601 and I-601A waivers

  • Asylum cases

  • VAWA petitions

  • U-Visa applications

  • T-Visa applications

  • Cancellation of removal support

  • Other humanitarian immigration matters, when clinically appropriate.

These evaluations may help document the psychological, emotional, relational, cultural, and functional impact connected to your immigration case.

WHY MY APPROACH IS DIFFERENT

Each evaluation is individualized to the person, the referral question, and the circumstances of the case. I look beyond symptoms to understand how history, relationships, culture, migration experiences, responsibilities, and existing vulnerabilities shape psychological functioning and daily life.

My background spans trauma-focused psychotherapy, high-acuity mental health care, crisis leadership, and immigration and legal settings. That experience has taught me to recognize complexity without overstating it and to understand psychological distress within the larger context of a person's life.

My goal is to bring the different parts of a person's story together into a clear, clinically grounded report that explains not only what they are experiencing, but how and why those experiences are affecting them without losing the person inside the report.

A strong evaluation does not flatten a person into symptoms. It helps the full context of their experience become clear.

THE PROCESS

01 Consultation

We begin with a consultation to discuss the type of evaluation needed, your timeline, whether you are working with an attorney, and whether this service is the right fit.

02 Intake & Documents

You complete intake forms and provide relevant records, statements, notices, or supporting documents.

03 Clinical Interview

The evaluation interview is completed through a trauma-informed conversation. This may include discussion of your personal history, symptoms, relationships, current stressors, fears, hardships, and the emotional impact of your immigration situation.

04 Report Preparation

Clinical findings, history, records, and relevant context are integrated into a written psychological evaluation

05 Review & Finalization

When appropriate, the client and attorney may review the report for factual accuracy before the final signed version is issued.

Planning Your Evaluation

Timeline

Turnaround is typically within 3 weeks and may vary based on case complexity, documentation, attorney coordination, and scheduling. Expedited evaluations may be available for an additional fee.

Fees

Fees vary depending on the type of evaluation, report needs, timeline, and case complexity. Evaluation fees are reviewed before services begin so expectations are clear.

Important Note
